Keeping scout records up-to-date and communicating information to unit members continues to be a time consuming task for Troops. SOAR's latest upgrade to the TroopMaster Import feature will greatly reduce the time required to synchronize data between TroopMaster software and a Troop's website.
The new upgrade also makes Individual Progress Reports (example) available online for the first time. This allows scouts and parents to view a scout's achiement record and progress towards their next rank, including a list of necessary requirements to complete. This will significantly reduce the burdon on the Advancement Chair allowing them to focus on working with scouts to help them advance instead of spending time on paperwork.
The latest update to SOAR's TroopMaster Import feature includes:
- Single click export from TroopMaster 2008
- Single file import into SOAR myTroop
- Encryption of the TroopMaster export file to protect sensitive information
- Support for short website usernames using the first intial and last name of the member
- Individual Progress Report for Scouts including
- Scout Ranks and dates achieved
- Completed Merit Badges and and date of completion
- Requirements completed towards next rank
- Requirements necessary to complete next rank
- Highlighting of Merit Badges required for Eagle
All of these features will be immediately available for Cub Scout Packs when PackMaster 2008 is released in the next few months.
