Boy Scout Troop 5 of East Northport was started in 1990. It was formed under the leadership of Jim Soria and led by Brian Autz for many years. Our current scoutmaster is Dave Baker. Troop 5 is sponsored by St. Anthony of Padua RC Church. We support the Knights of Columbus – Father Thomas A. Judge Council.
Troop 5 is a scout-led troop with fully trained adult leaders. We take pride in our troop schedule: we meet once a week for 1 ½ hours, and schedule camping trips and service projects each month.
Troop 5 attends summer camp every year at Camp Yawgoog in RI. Older scouts can participate in Boy Scout High Adventure trips to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Sea Base in the Florida Keys, Northern Tier in Ely, Minnesota/Atikokan, Ontario/Bissett, Manitoba, and the National or World Scout Jamborees at The Summit Bechtel Reserve in WV.
Our troop meetings are held on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00pm at 1025 Fifth Ave, East Northport (Trinity Regional School gym).
